Each betting ticket will bear, a penny Govern mont stamp. it is expected.that this new taxation will realise half a million per annum. Melbourne, December 7. I The Defence Department announces that to.the end of November 118,990 men were in active service and 55,361 in training. Perth,, December 7. Mr SVaddan (Premier) announces that the Bill limiting the hotel hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. will operate as from 10th January.
