EXPERIMENTAL AGRICULTURE.

WORK IN THE STRATFORD DISTRICT.

There are in the Stratford district some lifty-seven farmers co-operating with the Department in experiment work. There are over 90 plots varying nl size from l-nciv up to one acre. The Agricultural Department has therefore renlerod a fair amount of assistance- to the local plots at the Stratford School. The Various co-operative plots round strut lord are, of course, only an item in tlie work of the Department in farmers’ experiments. Co-operative plots lire to be found in practically every district of the North Island, and considering that the Department’s rork in -this direction is somewhat Uindieapped by the want of the necessary ; assistants to supervise and reOrd the work undertaken by, the farmers, much useful work has been accomplished.
