AMUSEMENTS.
CHASE’S VAUDEVILLE CO. The attendance at the Town Hall last night to witness the above combination was only meagre, the ball being half-filled. The programme opened with a song, nicely given, by the company. .Miss Violet Chase appeared in two songs, which were heartily applauded, and with Master Percy Chase took part in a gun-swinging turn, their singing and evolutions with the gnus earning a well-deserved .encore. Probably the best-appreciated, items of the evening were those given hy Mr Carlson, a performer recently with Puller, who gave some eccentric turns as a musician. TJis best item was on the one-string fiddle, syll-made from a cigar box and a string. Another good effort was his imitation of. a ,human voice on this instrument. His playing of the Drain-Pipophnne was quite worthy of the hearty applause bestowed ■upon the performer.t*_)Hio als«o sawed off clicked music front a sbw.
