A PRUSSIAN VIEW.

That Germany is yet some distance from viewing the future front a proper perspective is apparent from some of the statements made in leading newspapers. For instance, the Leipziger .1 ageblatt calls for a new partition of Poland, that is to say. of Russian Poland. It says: Pit we compare the results vvliieii wo have obtained in Prussian Poland and in Galicia, there can be no doubting what Russian Poland must become. In the first place we cannot think seriously of delivering that grejat

stretch of territory which the com mod development of the forces of the Central Empires has set free from the Russian yoke into the hands of one only of the partners. Poland must be divided between the two Central Empires. When this operation takes place, another question will arise, namely, in what manner the part shall be annexed to the whole. Each .of the two monarchies will he free to act according to its own judgment. 'For us a form of autonomy after the Galician manner has no charm. There, where it is a question of territory so important from a military point of view, where the economic and educational possibilities are so little developed, energetic management, Js,, indispensable if satisfactory results are to be obtained. We shall secure for ourselves,” the Leipziger Tagebhitt concludes, “perfect peace in the end. Gorman fortresses bujlt on the banks of the Polish rivers will protect us against Russian attacks. The products of Polish soil must be our guarantee' against famine in a future war.”
