HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. SUNSHINE ANI) SHADOW. At the head of a pleasing programme is a sympathetic drama by N ‘Digraph, entitled “Sunshine and Shadow.” False accusations and spiteful persecutions are forgotten in each other’s devotion, and their happiness is invaded by the shadows oi the past, but are soon dispelled in the sunshine of their re-united love. The supporting films are “In the Heait of the Woods,” and “Three Roses’’ (dramas), “Australian Gazette,” showing the arrival of Australia’s wounded hereof;, including Private Downs, Queensland, totally blind as the result of a bullet wound in his temple. ‘Till’* New Pal.” comedy. “"With the French Army in Lorraine” and a brilliant Keystone, entitled “Love and Swords.”

A SHOW ATTRACTION. BAKER’S BIG CIRCUS. One ol' the biggest attractions at the A. and I*. Grounds during the Show will be Baker’s Circus. Kveij performer is an artist in his or hei own particular line, and it is one ol the finest combinations that has ever toured the Dominion. The talented company includes comedians, equilibrists, acrobats and dare-devil cyclists. The comedians are clever and witty, while the acts performed by, the motor cyclists in the Globe of .Death, are marvellous. The apparatus used by Miss and Master Staig in their sensational cycle acts consists- of a large steel spherical cage, two trick bicyicles and a specially constructed Motor cycle. The performers outer the eagej and mounting the cycles, circle found jyid vqund the cage, passing‘and re-j passing each other in a race. Master! Staig then ‘‘loops .the loop” 'on tliej motor cycle. This latter act is most! sensational, the rider going at about, sixty miles an hour. The whole performance is well worth seeing, and should not he missed. At Haw era last week, the attendance was enormous. and every patron was more than satisfied.

CHASE’S VAUDEVILLE CO.' SHOW NIGHT, DECEMBER 2: The above company open a onenight season .in the .Town Hall, Stratford, on Thursday night (Show Night). This, combination , have met with a great reception wherever they have shown. They are headed .'by two of the cleverest performers who have yet toured this Dominion, viz., the Chases. They have a very tine act which includes their great gun-.spin-ning act, which has caused quite a new sensation on the Vaudeville stage. “Miss Violet and Percy Chase.” says the N.Z. Herald, “are the cleverest artists to visit Auckland for some time. Mr Ted Pearson (comedian and coon delineator) is the cause of great merriment.” Miss Muriel Black (Australia’s charming soul) ret to) will also he heard to the host advantage on Thursday evening. Jack Chase (the real coon ragtime singer and whilstler) keeps -his audience in screams of laughter from commencement to the finish. La Rosa, introducing her sensational Hoop Act, has. indeed, - become very popular in New Zealand, while the Brennan Bros’ head-to-head balancers, keep the qudience amazed in wonder the whole time.
