CONSPIRATORS ON TRIAL. GERMAN NAVAL ATTACHE INVOLVED. United Press Association. (Received 9.5 a.m.) New York, November 24. According to witnesses in the case against the Hamburg-Amerika line on a charge of conspiracy to deceive and defraud the United States by sending neutral ships with relief in the form of coal and other supplies to German warships in the Atlantic and Pacific, one witness swore that Captain Boyd, German Naval Attache, personally directed the expenditure of 750.000 dollars, which sum was unsolicited and unexpected and appeared •to witness's credit in a New York banking bouse. All the disbursements of this sum were made to the order of Boyd. UNIQUE REASONING. BOYED NOT AMENABLE TO AMERICAN LAW. (Received 9.45 a.m.) , '..Washington, November 24. Mr Lansing holds that Captain ■Boyed is not amenable to American law, because he used German money to subsidise American or German ( steamers, which aided German warships to raid Allied commerce on the high seas. Mr Lansing points out that no proofs are forthcoming that Boyed conspired with anybody. His ■connection with the case is merely incidental. WHOLE FLEETS OF STEAMERSENCAGED. Further evidence against the Ham-burg-Amereka directors showed that whole fleets of steamers were engaged in helping the German warships at .many ports of the United States both on the Atlantic and Poeific, coal and I food being supplied on a lavish scale.
