RUSSIA’S DAY IN LONDON., i ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT. United Pkebb Association. ' (Received 9.55 a.m.) London, November 18. Russia’s Day in London in behalf of the wounded prisoners in Germany was enthusiastically supported. The children of the elementary schools sang the Russian Anthem. Seven thousand ladies sold souvenirs in the streets'. Queen Alexandra and the Grand Duke Michael attended ,a matinee with a Russian programme at the Alhambra. Russian articles were sold at two bazaars, and a dinner and concert at the Carlton Club was given in aid of Lady Arthur Paget’s Russian relief fund. SPEYER-CASSEL TRIAL. (Received 9.55 a.m.) London, November 18. - In the Speyer-Cassel case, judgment was reserved. FINANCE IN BRITAIN. n (Received 12.35 p.m.) London, November 18. Mr McKenna’s new clause in the Finance Bill was carried. Mr McKenna agreed to exempt soldiers and sailors with incomes not exceeding £3OO 'from the increased income tax. CHURCHILL OFF TO THE FRONT (Received 12.35 p.m.) London, November 15. Mr Churchill has left London to join the Oxfordshire Hussars in France.
