SENSATIONAL INCIDENT. WARSHIPS CLEAR FOR ACTION. SWEDISH TORPEDOER BLUFFS GERMAN DESTROYER. UimisD Press Association. (Received 12.45 p.m.) London, November 17. Renter’s Copenhagen correspondent records a sensational incident. The British steamer Thelma left Twellehorg for Gothenburg, and a German destroyer which was in the vicinity of Landscrona chased her into Swedish territorial waters. The Swedish torpedoer Politic! approached as the Germans were hoarding the Thelma, forcing them to return. The destroyer Pollud ran between the two vessels, and informed the Germans that he would use any means if necessary to prevent the steamer’s capture. Both the warships cleared for action, and lay for some minutes opposite each other. There was an ominous silence, when the destroyer suddenly withdrew, leaving the Swedes in possession of the fiejd.
