AMUSEMENTS.
MIS MAJESTY'S THfcATKfc. "THE GREAT WAR." A iair number witnessed the new programme screened at His Majesty's Theatre last'night. The "Great War" is a lengthy topical taken on the- battlefield by Pathe Freres, and is full of interest, together with giving one a good idea of the game of war, and how it is played. Another star film is Vitagraph's special featuro drama, "The Butterfly," in which Helen Gardner, of "Cleopatra" lame, sustains the name part. "The Butterfly," a beautiful heiress, is wooed for her wealth by an English peer, a French marquis, a Russian count, and a German baron, and is courted for herself alone by a Yankee commoner. JThe titled suitors in turn resort to trickery and chicanery in their endeavours to annex the lady and her dollars, but their efforts are frustrated, and in the end she weds the Yankee. The German i s nowhere in the race. Added features are "Beauty Bunglers" (a Keystone comedy); "Added Fuel" (Reliances two-part drama). This photo-play is thrilling and surprising; "Curses Jack Dalton" is a Luhin cartoon comedy, ;I nd Gaumont's "Topical Budget" is very interesting.
