GERMAN CRUISER SUNK. THE UNDINE TORPEDOED IN THE BALTIC. United Puesb Association. (Received 10.25 a.m.) London, .May 8. The German cruiser Undine was torpedoed in the Baltic. Most of the crew were saved. CONFIRMATION BY BERLIN. (Received 10 a.m.) New York, November 8. Reuter's Berlin correspondent reports that the German cruiser Undine (2657 tons) was submarined in the Baltic yesterday (The Undine was a protected cruiser of 2620 tons, with a speed of about 21 1 knots. Armament: Ten 4.1 in. quick-firers and two torpedo tubes. There is a 2in. curved deck over boilers and machinery spaces. With a full coal supply on board, cruisers of this class have a steaming radius at low speed of slightly over 1000 knots. The complement numbers 275 officers and men. Two sister ships, the Thetis and Nymphe were sunk at Riga). BRITISH ARMED STEAMER SUNK (Received 10.10 a.m.) London, November 8. submarines on Friday in the Eastern Mediterranean sank the British armed hoarding steamer Tara. Thirty-four are missing.
