ROUNDING UP THE GERMAN FIRM. D.H. AND P.C. PRISONERS. AN ATTEMPT TO STIR UP SAMOANS. Auckland, November S. Fifteen German prisoners-of-war were brought to Auckland by the Talune last night in charge of a guard from the Samoan Garrison under Captain J. A. Algie. Among the prisoners wag Karl Hanssen, general manager of D.H. and P.G. Company at Samoa, who has been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment by the military court for evading the censorship and disobeying tbe regulations. He was also ordered to be interned until tbe end of the war. He sent letters by motor boats intercepting sailing vessels trading with ’Frisco, where they were posted to Germany. They were captured on route and sent back. Another prisoner was Adolph Eberhardt, manager of one of the principal plantations of tbe D.H. and P.G. Company. He was charged with failing to deliver to the Occupying Force I property in his charge belonging to the late German Government at Samoa. For this offence he was fined £.lO and ordered to he interned until the end of the war. The loenments are the most important secured since the occupation. Others brought back were ordinary prisoners of war who have been ordered to be interned. Passengers by the Talune assert that the Germans are endeavouring to stir np a huge army of natives, telling many untruths, and stating that London has been razed and Britain occupied.
INVALIDED FROM SAMOA. FOURTEEN MEN RETURN. Per Press 'Association. Auckland, November S. Fourteen men of the Samoan Garrison, who were invalided home, returned by the Talune. They are; —Sergeants McArthur and Clark; Privates Collins, Addison, Crane, Diamond, G ridge, Hegge, Par mini, Perks, Synie, Vernon), Fitzgerald, and Rowe. ( 11th REINFORCEMENTS.
