General Botha, at Potehefstroni, said tlie cases of imprisoned rebels would bo considered on their moiits, but a general amnesty would lie. impossible as long as the spirit of rebellion prevailed adumbrated. Drastic, measures would be taken against school teachers fostering the spirit of the rebellion among the scholars. General Smuts said that although the German flag still flew.in I'hist Alnca, he hoped it would soon disappear altogether.
