A COLOURED CONTINGENT. United Press Association. Capetown, October 27. Tt is understood that General Botha has decided to retain office for the present. Reuter’s correspondent states that the opening of the recruiting campaign for a colored contingent was markedly, enthusiastic. On opening the doors the rush was so great that it was necessary to erect a barricade and requisition the police to keep the entrances clear. Two hundred enrolled in two hours, most of whom bad served in SouthWest Africa. The enlistment is confined to unmarired men without dependents.
