Tiro milking season is m mu suing, and returns are giving --,.u islaction. Hie enlarged school is proving beuelieiai to tire toacliers and scholars. The recent visit of the inspector and his report is highly satisfactory. Hearty and enthusiastic farewells were given by the residents oi the district to Mr Frank St, George and Mr Martin on the occasion of their departure lor the training camp at Trentham. They were each presented with a- pair of held glasses. The ladies of the district have recently formed a largo and enthusiastic Patriotic Committee, and have collected over £2O for the purchase of material to make garments lor the Belgian and Wounded Soldiers. Sowing meetings are hold every Thursday afternoon, and it is the intention ol the committee to hold a grand social evening in the near future to augment the funds. The members are to lie congratulated on their enterprise and patriotic spirit. Mr E. Harding, our popular creamery manager has also collected about £3O for the Red Cross Fund in the Douglas district. The Salvation Army officer, Adjutant Cook, of Stratford, has recently been through the district collecting lor the annual Self-Denial Fund, and has increased the amount of previous years. The new house recently erected is now complete, and occupied by the minister, and the committee gratefully desires to thank all who assisted with donations and free labous, etc . Much sympathy has been felt for Mr and Mrs Lochhead and family in the reported loss of their son at the Dardanelles,
