LOCAL AND GENERAL.
Owing to the pressure of work at the Ladies’ Patriotic' rooms, the promoters of to-morrow’s market have been unable to canvass the district for produce, etc., and it is hoped that that the town and country folk will donate articles of a saleable value, and leave them at the C.B.A. Buildings early in the morning. A largo amount of produce has heen promised, and it only remains for residents of the Stratford district to donate as freely as hitherto to make the market one of the most successful yet held. A meeting of the executive committee of the Stratford A, and P. Association was held in the Association’s rooms last night, the President (Mr R. Masters, presiding. The President and Messrs Jackson and Lopdell were elected a sub-committee to arrange for a band, with power to act. It was decided that the matter of catering be left in the hands of Messrs Masters and Jackson with power to act. In answer to a request from Palmerston pig-breeders to hold a Swine Breeders’ Conference at Palmerston on November 4, Mr R. Masters was elected the Stratford Association’s delegate.
