Air John Blair, Ngaere, left, for Trentham by the mail train this morning. The death of Sir Thomas Powell Buxton, a former Governor of South Australia, at the age of 78, is reported from London. Air H. Alastcrs, at last night’s meeting of the Stratford A. and P. Association, was elected chairman of the dog section at the coming show. . i■ : !. ' : Air R. H. Kivell received word this morning that his son Eric has been admitted to Bristol Hospital, South Mead. Private Kivell-had an attack of dysentery recently. His condition is not severe, and it is expected that a quick recovery will be his lot. Friends will regret to learn that Airs King, wife of Air A. C. King, and daughter-in-law of Air N. J. King, of Stratford, died at Riverton yesterday. The late Airs King (nee Alargaret Hutchinson), was well known in Stratford. where, for some years, she was a member of the teaching staff of the school. Much sympathy will be expressed with Air King and with the relatives of the deceased. ’ The many friends of Air Guy Templar, formerly of Stratford, and eldest son of Alls Templar, of this town, will he pleased to hear that he has been appointed to the position of engineer and manager of the Thames Alunicipal electricity department. • Air Templar was an articled apprentice with the Stratford Company under Air Newton, and served under him for four years. He left to take a position on the electrical staff at Otira tunnel, and now leaves the services of the Hawera Electric Company, where he has been chief of their power house staff for the last three years.
