FOOD PANIC IN BERLIN. ALARMING CONDITIONS. [United Press Association.] (Received 12.35 p.m.) Copenhagen, October 27. An unquestionable source stages that the food crisis in Berlin has become a panic. The poorer classes are on the verge of starvation, and the women are storming the shops. and crying for food. Broken windows are everywhere. There is a dearth of raw material, and an alarming shortage of glycerin© for the war. Factories are commajndeering lard and butter, while dead horses are railed from the fronts and taken to the margarine factories.
