A French communique confirms the bombardment of Varna and Burgas. BOMBARDMENT OF BULGARIAN I COAST. I Athens, October 23. J Official: The Allies are bombarding the Bulgarian coast from Dcdeagatch i :to Porolago. j Paris, October 23. I The Italian squadron is participating in the bombardment of the Bulgarian coast. London, October 24. The Admiralty reports that a squadron of British, French, and Russian ships carried out a bombardment of the Bulgarian coast on the afternoon of October 21. They shelled a number of military positions, and inflicted serious damage on harbor works, the railway station, and shipping at Dedeagatch. Great care was exercised to avoid firing at any points except those of military importance.

Swedish metal exports to Germany have been discontinued owing to the activity of British submarines, which has resulted in the holding-lip of all German shipping.
