The death of Sir Andrew Nobel, JC.Q.B., the well-known authority on explosives, is announced from London, at the age of 86.. Sir Andrew, who was created a baronet in 1902, was chairman of the Annstrong-AVhit-worth Company, and was on the First Committee of Explosives until its dissolution. He was a member of the Board of Research, and president of tlie Federated Engineering Employers of the United Kingdom. He has published various papers on Explosives, and the Science of Gunnery, and was awarded the Albert Medal of the Roval Society of Arts in 1909.
