MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS. United Press Association. Paris, October 21. General Sir lan Hamilton and his ■staff have reached Marseilles aboard the cruiser Chatham. London, October £l. Cases of dysentery at the Dardanelles show a gratifying decrease during the past month. New York, October 22. The Constantinople correspondent of the Associated Press, who visited the Turkish lines, estimates that 115,000 Britishers in Anafarta region are opposed by 130,000 Turks, with eighty thousand effective reserves. The Turks, he says, hold every advantage. General von Sanders says: “1 am too old to be an optimist, but 1 am confident that unless something extraordinary occurs we will hold the Allies where they are.” The Turks estimated that the Allies lost twelve thousand killed and 25,000 wounded in the assaults on Anafarta between August 20 and 27. Athens, October 22. The Allies yesterday repulsed Turkish attacks at Sulva and Krithia, inflicting severe losses.
