A GIRL AND A HATPIN.

Wellington, October 20. "Marjorie Cardno was acquitteed at the Magistrate's Court to-day on a charge of assaulting George Clarke so as to cause bodily harm. The wound was made by a hat-pin. The girl said that Clarke tried to kiss her, and she used the pin in self-defence.
