A British submarine in the Baltic sank the German steamers Johanswulff, Hernoesahd and Delelfaen. It is rumored that four others were sunk. Danish captains say that the British submarines pop up everywhere and disappear again with alertness, proving an intimate knowledge of the difficult waters. Several were seen near the minefield. BRITISH LOSSES FROM SUBMARINES. THE TOTAL TO DATE. (Received 9.5 a.m.) London, October 20. Mr McNaniara stated that 183 British merchantmen and 175 fishboats have so far been submarined.
SWEDISH STEAMER CAPTURED. London, October 10. A British submarine captured the Swedish steamer Nike, laden with ore. bound for Stettin, and took the vessel to lleval. GERMAN TORPEDO BOATS LOST. Copenhagen, October 19. It Ls admitted that the German steamer Preussen rammed and sank a German torpedo-boat, believing it to lie ono "of the enemy's boats. Forty-nine out of a crew of fifty-four perished. A German torpedo-boat was accidentally Mown no at Langeland Belt and fourteen of the crew were lost.
