A Press Association' telegram from Palmerston North To-day states: —In the Wellington Military District the quota required .for the Tenth Reinforcements is 400 for the. mounteds and 1200 for the infantry. Up to today 252 mounteds and 521 infantry have registered-.' Of this number, only 444 of the medically fit who register in any group Defence Office may go to camp next week. A fire occurred at Levin this morning at 1.30 o’clock in Pringle and Hastie’s building, .in Oxford Street, occupied by SviLadeile,yphotographei, and R. E. Lucas, bookseller and stationer. The building and contents were completely destroyed.. The fronts of the adjoining shops owned by I'. C. Remington and occupied by the Modern Printing Coy and I*,. C. Remington, chemist, were slightly damaged. The insurances were: Pringle and Ha,stie £450, Lucas £375 oil the stock. Laddele £132, Modern Printing Coy £230.
