TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.

The Presbytery met in Hawera. October 7th,' Bev. Mr Pattison, presiding in the absence of Mr Shme. Apologies wore received from Messrs j Haiti. Shore, AlaeDiarmid and Ireland. The Clerk reported that Evangelist (jnnnniiig would commence b's work within the hounds next April, and Messrs Pattison and Howes, with their Presbytery elders, were appointed to prepare an initerary. Kevs. Messrs Shore. Pattison, Low-ei-y and Howes, and Messrs Bridge. Ireland. Lilley, and a representative from Opnnake, were appointed to Assembly at Auckland. Air Lowery reported that Mr Norrie was ordained at Wliangamomona as a Homo Missionary on September 21st. A commission, Messrs Shore, Pattison. J.owery and Howes with then elders, was appointed to inquire .into the whole question of re-adjustment of bounds ol parishes, and report to next meeting. ' The New Plymouth congregation wrote thanking the Presbytery and Presbytery Clerk, Air Howes, for assistance rendered during Mr Boseveare’.s illness. Extended leave of absence was granted to Mr Boseveare till the end of the year, and the cordial sympathy oi the Presbytery extended to him. Air Pattison was appointee] Afoderator of AVaitatra. The Bev. AVm. Shirer, of ‘Wellington-, was nominated as .Moderator a sAssemhly for 19loll.) 17. .Messrs Ireland, Shore; and Bridge were appointed to Assembly 'Committees. Tlie Presbytery passed a motion oi sympathy with the widow and familv of the late Chaplain-Alajor Grant, killed at the Dardanelles, who had spout the morning of his ministry iu Hawera (student) and New Plymouth, where lie was ordained, Awatnna Church.—-Mr Howes reported that a now church had been erected at Awatnna, complete with furniture, organ, communion table, hymn hooks, and pulpit Bible. With one or two small exceptions, the whole bad boon the gift of two members of the congregation.
