HISTORIC SITTING AWAITED. DRASTIC ACTION WITH NIGHT CLUBS. United Press Association. (Received 1.20 p.m.) Loudon October 13. It was a quiet day in the House of Commons in view of the historic sitting to-morrow, which many Commoners desire, should include a general debate on the Balkan situation. Sit John Simon (Attorney-General) has introduced a Bill dealing with, night chibs and confined to the duration of the war. The Bill authorises the closing of chib;; ul 12.30 ti ghtly, inspection by superior police officers, and military authorities, and those responsible for misconduct will be liable to fine or imprisonment. Sir John Simon persisted that the clubs of a pernicious character which had been springing' up in great numbers since the war had become a public scandal. The National. Liberal, and Carlton Clubs would necessarily he treated on the same footing. , The House proceeded to the second reading of the Finance Bill, particularly the income tax proposals.
