STRATFORD HOSPITAL BOARD.

MONTH LY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Stratford Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday, when there were present: Messrs J. Me All i*st( i (chairman), 0. I). Sole, E. Walters, E. Hine, J. Smith, .1. Christoffel, and A. Meredith. The Medical Superintendent, Hr. Steven, reported that the month elevei patients were admitted, thirteen wer - discharged, and then: were no dea Its. Seventeen remained in Hospital at the end of the monlh. Seven opera! ions were perlormed under anaesthetics. There were no patients in the isolation "aid. Adopted. M ,J. B. bine, M.P.. wrote enclosing a letter irom the Minister of .Instiee stating that in regard to a naturalised German living in Stratford, it had been arranged that in cases ol aliens requiring relief, the Public Health Department would pay half the cost of relief afforded by Charitable Aid Boards.—Received. A circular letter was received Irom Dr. Valintino. Inspector Genera* and Director of Military Hospitals, stating that a weekly repori relating to the velfare of Sick and Wounded Soldiers ■etnrned from active sendee and comnitted to the care ol the Board, was equired by bis department.— It was lecided to reply to the request. Tbe Sanitary Inspector, Mr A. Tray, reported as billows: No infeeions diseases were notified in tbe listrict during the month. Premises veto disinfected in Stratford Borough liter a scarlet fever patient, who was ■inrsed at heme. The drainage and -dumbing work at the Public Hospital uul three private hospitals was inspected. Other drainage and plumbbig inspections were made in conpingtion with In peetor Middleton. Acting under in tructions from the District Health Officer one sample of margarine was p irchased, and forwarded for analysis. Various food shops were visited.—Adopted. The gardener in his report stated that the kitchen garden was in good order, and the vegetables were doing well.—Adopted. It was decided to purchase a new lawn mower for the use of the, gardener. Accounts amounting to £271 Is Id were passed for payment.
