LOCAL AND GENERAL.
A big recruiting meeting will be held at Wljangamomona on October II). .Mr .1. T. .V. Hornsby, M.P.. for Wairarapa, has promised to speak. Mr \\ : . P. Kirkwood will also attend with Lieutenant Gray. The public are reminded of the Military Concert in the Town Hall tonight. The dress circle will be reserved for ladies and their escorts. As the proceeds will go to swell the fund for our sick and wounded boys, and as thov ( > who are assisting in variolic ways, have spent a considerable amount of time and energy for so worthy a cause, it i s to be hoped that the public will show great appreciation of their efforts, also sympathy for our boys in a practical manner by their attendance.
