The newspaper Kairoi states: After the mobilisation order was signed, the King asked j)d.' Yenizelos what was the purpose of concentrating a large army on the Macedonian frontier? M. Yenizelos replied: Firstly, to defend the country; secondly, to assist Servia if,Bulgaria attacks her. King Constantine said he agreed regarding the defending of Greece but did not consider it desirable that Greece should, aid Servia. M. Yenizelos recalled the treaty, and King Constantine said Servia bad refused to help Greece against Turkey in May. 1914. He added that M. Yenizelos himself bad not desired to send an army -when the Eentente asked Orecce to help Servia against Austria : on the contrary, he had demanded as a condition, they should have Roumanian co-operation. Bulgarian, neutrality, and military help from Britain, France and Russia. To-day, concluded King Constantine, the Aus-tro-Gernians number bull' a million, and the Bulgarians .'IOO,OOO, and the Russian retreat prevents Roumania helping the Servians.
