Bidding throughout was spirit ed, all lines being cleared at the fol lowing prices: Rough yearling steer; £2 lis. choice Holstein 15 month heir" ers £3 10s, Shornhorn yearling heifer; £2 Is to £2 10s, small £1 12s to £J Us, heavy bulls £ll 10s to £ll 15s small £-5 2s Gd, yearling Shorthon; bulls £l, empty 2 year heifers £3 lis to £3 19s. A very prime line of heavj fat cows from Mr Fred Andrews, Beii Block, made £ll 10s. Forward cows £6 8s to £7 18s, store cows (good) £1 12 s 6d to £5 19s, light store cows £'2 [l2s Gd to £3 18s, choice springing heifers up to £8 15s, smaller sorts oi poorer in condition £4 5s to £5 12s Gd. | At Toko on Monday, 27th. there was a good entry, which sold under keen competition a« follows:—Yearling heifers £2 os to £2 12s, yearling steers £2 9s Gd, empty 2 year heifers £3 13s to ( £4 -Is, forward co\v s £7 10s, fat cows £9 17s, store cows £5 10s to £5 lGs, 15 Ito 18 month .steers £4 Is, springing heifers £4 os to £8 10s. | On Wednesday, for my Waiwakaiho horse fair, horses were yarded right .up to the expected numbers, and buyers were present from all parts of the district. Any horses with weight met with good bidding, good spring carters selling up to £3l 10s for young horses, but the light horses were not inquired for. Taken right through the sale was quite satisfactory. | At Stratford on Tuesday, 28th inst., there was a fair entry of cattle, for ■ which 1 had a good inquiry, but owing to the exceedingly heavy rains falling early in the afternoon, the latter part "f the sale was considerably affected I by the weather, a good number having jto be passed, but good sales were effected by private treaty. Competition on all good conditioned cattle was exceptionally keen and also on 2 year empty heifers. Yearling heifers made '£2 0s Gd to £2 Ids, small £1 Gs to,£l 116 s, rough yearling steers £2 10s to '£3 2s, 2 year steers £4 12s, 2J year steers £G 14s, 2 year empty heifers £3 Gs to £4 2s, yearling bulls £3 10s to £5, medium weight bulls £7 2s 6d, fat cows £ll 10s and £ll 12s, light fat rows £8 9s to £9, forward cows £G 12s Gel to £7 14s, store cows £4 12s to £5 119 s, small store cows £2 18s to £3 13s, fat hoggets £1 5s 7d, fat wethers 3ls id. ewes ana lambs 275, fa*-, and forv.aid ewes '/2s Gd. j In the dairy pens thee wj,; a good yarding, amongst which were some good quality heifers, but the size and age was not up to my previous yardings, making the sale a little harder than any recent ones.
