Cold-Blooded Murder.
FARMER SHOT IN BED. ’ i. nW HIS WIFE ALONGSIDE UNHURT. NO CLUE TO THE PERP-ETRATOR. Per Press Association. Auckland, September 25. Thomas Perry, farmer, at Hama Rama. 25 miles south of Ancklaild. was killed by a shot from a shot-gun while in hed with his wife at 3 o’clock this morning. The circumstances point to a coldblooded murder. Perry is about 40 years of age, and' his wife several years younger. H e leaves a family of nine children ranging from fourteen years to two months. Perry returned from a visit to the city last 1 night. The family were on their usual happy terms, and retired at H o’clock: ■Mrs Perry states that she was 'awakened by a gun-shot at 3 o’clock, ( aful heard her husband making a noise. She, saw that lie had been shot in the head. The eldest son, , John, who was sleeping in an adjoining room said lie head the gunshot. On going .to his paVents’ room he asked his mother what was the matter with his f,ithei. Shd replied that somebody had blown his 1 head off She told him to call their neighbor,- and the hoy did so. Dr. Broomfield, cl; Pfipakura, was sent for, arriving with the police at 4.45.. Perry \vas dead, the head being badly scattered and several parts of the skull were blown away. There is no clue to the murderer, but the shot-gun has been found in the house. '
