AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "The Swindler," featuring the beautiful screen'actress, Miss Alice Joyce, is the chief attraction to-night at His Majesty's Theatre in the new programme to be presented. The picture exposes to methods of the "bucket shop" proprietors or" bogus company promoters of America. -Miss Alice Joyce, as the swindler's wife, portrays the. role with a dramatic power and emotional expression which, even fully calculating her talent, is nothing less than a revelation. The other attractions of the programme shows "Fatty and Mabel at St. Diego," the Latest War Gazette provides more news from the Continent; "Making of a Newspaper',, the Los Angelos Examiner. is a capital industrial study, showing a groat daily being turned out from the raw pulp to the printed sheet reaches the tea table. The usual matinee will be held on Saturday, and instead of commencing at 1.30, the time of starting will be 2 p.m.
