The Tuscania has arrived with 409 survivors from the Greek steamer | Athenai, which was abandoned on fire . at sea. The crew fought the fire for j thirty-six hours, assisted by some passengers. "5.0.5." calls brought the Tuscania, who" sent a fire-fighting party aboard. They were unable to get the flames under control, and the captain decided to abandon' the ship. Mi- Marks, a Sydney yachtsman who is in England, speaking of patrol, work in the North Sea is of opinion that an opening exists for the naval volunteer reserve, competent yachtsmen, and motor boat engineers \vhose services would be much value.
