Mr Dingle said he thought it advisable that the general committee should meet at certain intervals. The speaker said he hoped the executive would keep in touch with the general Committee.

Mr McMillan explained Unit there would not be enough business to be disposed ol to call the general committee together once a month. He would like to see the time extended to three months. Mr Masters said that it would- not be lair to bring country members into town when there was no business to be disposed 01. U was decided, on the motion ol Mr Masters, seconded by Mr Coyne: That the general committee meet every three months, and at other times when thought advisable, also that the committee be notihed monthly ol the business transacted. A letter was received from the Ladies’ Committee asking tor £2O to buy material for the making of sand bags. Mr Dingle said that the Lund had been commenced to help at such times as this, and would like to see the grant made. The speaker said said that the men on the land had wasted thousands of basic slag bags, [and he urged farmers to collect their bags and forward them to the Ladies’ Committee at Stratford. 1 Mr McMillan said that he did not agree to the money being granted. He favoured the providing of material. Mr Masters said that thousands of men were most likely being killed daily for the want of sand bags. Air Thomas moved, and Air Jackson seconded: “That £2O in cash be granted to the Ladies’ Committee.” —Carried. It was decided to thank Alessrs H. Wilson and Soil for their offer to make up a bolt of liesian into sand bags. Air Boon moved ‘‘That a vote of thanks be accorded to the old committee for services rendered.” Seconded by Mr 'Coyne and carried unanimously. Air Kirkwood briefly replied on behalf of the committee.
