In the Salvation Army Hall Oil Thursday evening, Brigadier Cannichiit'l is announced to deliver a lecture on "The Salvation Army and the Present War." at 8 o'clock/Cr J. H. The "Dardanelles .Market and Re- ( fresliinent Rooms" held in the CB.A. Buildings on Saturday by Mesdames McQuay and Sangster, was an unqualified success. K.-irly in the mortmig "customers" turned up in large numbers, and by 10 o'clock in the evening, nearly £27 had been received J'or the Sick and Wounded Soldiers' Fund. The afternoon tea department was crowded all the time it was open, and this accounted for a la rye percentage of the money. In the guessing competition tor the doll, the name of which was Betty, "Sirs Bickerton ami Mr Colsoir put in the right name, and will draw for the prize. Mr Middlemiss guessed the correct weight (81 bs -10/.s) of the leg of mutton, and so was adjudged tlie winner. The promoters of the "market" wish to fhank the memhers of Rogers' orchestra and Messrs Fred Foley and ('has FT.
