STEFANSON FOUND.
MISSING SINCE 1&14. United Piikss Association. (Received 8.45 a.m.) Ottawa, September 17. Yilhjamttr Stefansson, the explorer, has been found in the Arctic quite safe. He had been missing since 1914, when bis vessel, the Karluk. was wrecked. It was believed that Stefansson was lost. He sailed from Victoria, British Columbia/ i ll ' Jline ' 1913 ~,, ~,.'. .

''■* Reived 12.20 p.m.) Ottawa, September 17. , Stefansson was discovered iti a new laud south-west of St. Patrick's Land, and ho does not propose to return home until he can ascertain the full extent of the new i country, the existence of which was hitherto unsuspected. Stefi'ansson, with one schooner left, intends to ascertain if the new land is the supposed Polar Continent, which many' previous ' explorers believed exists off St. Patrick's Land.
