Aii experienced working manager (married man preferred), is required to take entire charge of a thousand acre sheep farm in the Whangamotnona district. The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society will hold their usual stock sale at the Kaponga saleyards on Friday. * Workers will find it to their benefit to buy all they possibly can during the last few days of the Melbourne, Ltd’s., reduction sale. The cost of all such lines as men’s and boys’ suits, saddle trousers, under-flannels and all kinds of hosiery is advancing rapidly, and anyone investing in these goods right now will reap a considerable saving. P. Phelan, Commercial Hotel, Broadway South, inserts a notice in this issue drawing the attention of the travelling public to the first-class accommodation obtainable at the Commercial. There is also good stabling accommodation in connection with the hotel. The presence of such high-class trotting stallions as Havoc and Todd Bells at the saleyards yesterday attracted a lot of attention. Opinion was sharply divided as to the merits of the stallions for remounts and racing purposes. Todd Bells is a very handsome dark chestnut standing 15.3, and is a straight-out trotter, with beautiful action. * He iiome« of great speed-pro-ducing blood. Havoc, on the other hand, though Ixjing the only horse in the North Island eligible for the Trotting Cup, is low set and not so attractive to the eye, hut there can be no doubt that he is exactly the type of stallion for carriage and remount stock. Havoc is a bay with black points. It was evident both horses are splendid tempered anipials, and Mr Barraclough has them in great nick at present.
