One of the Taranaki Motor Transport Company’s big motor buses was deliberately set afire late on Monday evening (reports the News). A bearing becoming damaged, the machine was pulled up near the Arawhata Hoad, Opunake. The Company’s mechanic went out, but had not finished repairs' when night fell. At about 11.30 o’clock the same evening an Opunake Road resident discovered the machine afire. An examination ol the remains showed that the benzine tank had been opened, and evidently fired, and also that his bag of tools had disappeared. There are grounds for the belief that it is a case of deliberate incendiarism.
