Griffiths, the owner of the Okorire Hotel, states that he was awakened at 5.30 in the morning, and saw from hi* bedroom window flames rising from the roof above the-billiard room. Bj the time he had aroused the boarders and got outside, the whole hotel seemed ablaze. AH escaped in most scanty clothing an dwith a few personal belongings. The building was valued ,at £6OOO. The insurance on the building and furnishings with the stock total £3OOO, in the United Insurance Company.—P. A.
