THE ZEEBRUCCE BOMBARDMENT. TWO SUBMARINES AND GUNS DESTROYED. United Phesf Association. (Received 10.10 a.m.) Amsterdam. September i). The telegraph, in contradicting Germany's minimising account, oi the bombardment of Zeebrugge, says that the British Fleet at a short distance threw sixty shells, killed forty *"d 'wounded a hundred. They destroyed a fort for submarines with two sub--1 marines, two guns on the Harbour wall and damaged a third gun. The j shell fire badly damaged a central shed containing two airships. 'hICH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner reports: — London, September 9 (8.30 p.m.) A new German attack in the Argonne was repulsed during the night by 'the French. The Germans* who attacked with great violence, suffered 'considerable loss. | At Artois, artillery actions are very 'lively!
French aeroplanes dropped fifty bombs on the station at Challerange. The casualties reported from all areas as result of last night's attack by enemy aircraft were—Killed 12 men, three women, and six children ; injured, seriously 14, slightly 72. all being civilians, except four soldiers, oi whom one was killed and three injured.
