Private A.. Findlay, y on n 2Gth April, at Gaba Tepp, u rescued,, the wounded i under heavy shel and rifle-fire on the open beach. Sorgeant W. Rodger, during a sortie on 4th June, at Quinn's Post, was in charge of a party of, men, and although seriously wounded' by a bayonet thrust, refused to retire . WELLINGTON BATTALION. Corporal P, Bennett, on 26th. April, at Gaba Tepe, maintained the supply of ammunition for the machine-guns under the heaviest fire. AUCKLAND BATTALION. Corporal W. Held, when the officer and sergeant in a machine-gun section had been killed, took command. His bravery and example prevented the flank if the battalion being turned. ~M Srgeant R. THsiey, on the night of 4th June, at Quinn's Post, was in the enemies trenches, which had been carried by assault, but were being enfiladed by a machine-gun. Tilsley built up a sand-bad traverse, which was constantly blown away by Turkish bombs, and he continued until ser- '; . iously wounded. NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS. | Sergeant A. Abbey, on the second day at Gaba Teoe, distinguished himjV «eIT by his zeal and bravery when in command of a party who were entrenching und'er the heaviest fire.
Sapper Scrimshaw, on 24tK April, at Gaba Tepe, on four occasions brought in wounded after all attempts at rescue had failed. NEW ZEALAND AMBULANCE. §•;,. ft '.■ ■■ '.■' ' ' • Private A. A. w. P.
