AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. A combination of motion pictures of tJio best quality and of wide variety was screened for the first time at His Majcstry’s Theatre last evening before a. house in which it was difficult to lind a vacant seat. “Mabel’s Simple Life,” an exceptional summed up in two wards, irresistibly funny. Mabel Nonnand, who is the bright particular star in the picture, is aptly described as ‘‘the queen of comedy,” was responsible for one of the most pleasant evenings spent at His Majesty’s. A capital programme supports the leading film, including the ever popular War Gazette. “The Beat of the Year” (powerful melodrama which is woven round a lady reporter), “Scenes in and Around Pretoria,” “Greater Love Hath no Man” (drama), “A Rude Awakening” (comedy). The same bill will be repeateed to-night.
