New South Wales has enlisted at least 48,000 this year and not -10,882 altogether, as was stated. They say that if the’ truth were known New South W ales has done more than all the other States put together.

The Osterley has arrived from London. ft appears that an hour after leaving Tilbury, the vessel was ordered to shelter at Marglrtb, owing to the presence of German mines in the Channel, add she remained there all night. On proceeding next morning the officers saw a dark object ahead. The patrol boats fired and exploded the mine. There was great relief when the Channel was cleared.
