Carpontier has again met with an accident, hi landing his aeroplane he fractured a thigh. SIR JOHN FRENCH REPORTS. London, August 3D. Sir John French reports that since his communique of August there has not been any tightino; on the British front. There has been some mining, but conditions generally are Uormal. We shot down enemy aero- ' planes on the 18th and 21st. and our heavy artillery on the 25th set fire to
the railway station at Langemark. The same evening the Royal Flying Corps co-operated with the Allies in a successful attack on the forest of Houthulst, without loss of any machines.
