Frank Allen, who lived in a hut in tlje district* founil guilty of breaking into'a store at Hinds, and stealing various goods. He was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. NAPIER SESSIONS. Napier, August 31. . The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court were opened to-day. the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) presiding, i Richard Thomas Hern, a man of weak intellect, pleaded guilty to having carnal knowledge of a girl under 16. and was remanded for ,sentence. Richard Fairehihl did not appear to answer a charge of obtaining money under false pretences, and on /the application of the bondsmen the case was adjourned. William James Hart was found guilty of theft From a dwelling, and remanded for sentence.
INVERCARCILL SESSIONS.

The Supreme Court opened to-day. Hugh Dick 'Cameron; aged 32, oil a. charge of forging and uttering; Frederick W. Ambrose, aged 36, on a charge of breaking and entering and theftj Wm. John Sycamore, IS years, for breaking and entering; and Arthur H. F. Fenn, 19 years, for forging two cheques, were ordered to be detained for reformative treatment for a term not exceeding three years. Sue Fun, a Chinaman, charged with indecently assaulting a under 16 years at Tapanui, was found guilty and remanded for sentence. Norman F. Boyce, 17 years, charged with unlawfully carnally knowing a jfirl over 12 and under 16 years, was acquitted.
