THE MARTON MEETING.

The Martou Jockey Clul) received first-class acceptances for their Spring
Meeting, which takes place to-morrow. With Eiccarton form as a guide; punters should hold their own. The opening event, the Hack Hurdles, has drlhVri" no less thai! seventeen acceptors. According to the daily press, Glenroy figures in the list, hut evidently the name intended is the wellknown Glenorehy, who with Ruatangata and St. (Jate, should run prominently. The majority of those engaged in the .Maiden are of unknown quantity, hut Flying Spur and BlackAda have shown on occasions they possess some pace. The Railway Handicap should he an interesting race between Shaki, Crown Pearl and Rangitero. On Riecarcon form, the Hunt Club Cup looks a gift to Rufws. A really good held (considering the prize offered) will line up for the Marton Handicap. Fortify is nicely handi capped, hut may meet more than his match in Haskayne. if the going is at all soft. The Electric Hack should provide a good betting race. Depredation, Sweet Corn, and Interlude are very smart, and may make the finish interesting. Capt. Macky and Agatha Green will command a large following in the Steeplechase, whilst Welcome Nugget and Prince Laddo appear best in the Hack Welter.
