PEDIGREE HOLSTEIN-FRIESIANS
Mr Newton King is holding his annual clearing sale of pedigoee Hol-stein-Friesian cattle at his "Willowdale" farm, Bell Block, Taranaki, on Wednesday, September Sth next. Mr King's herd is one that goes back to the early days of the ''Bijick and Whites," and has always been kept in the foreground by the importation of male and female animals from America. His present sire, King Fayne Segis 2nd, is now well known throughout the Dominion and has taken more championships than any other bull of late years. Moreover, he is the winner of the challenge cup given by the Holstoin-Friesian Association. A bull bred by Mr King is sire of Mr Donald's champion heifer, who at two years and eleven mouths gave, under semi-official test, the remarkable return of 805 pounds of butter-fat in twelve months. Another bull from Mi King's herd sired Mr G. Aitcheson's ! six heifers, which gave the following butter-fat in twelve months: 6141b5., |os9lbs. 6441b5, 6591b5., 5771b5., and 5231b5. The sire of the world's champion Holstein cow ("Finderne Holinigen FayneV), which gave 11601 b of , butter-fat in the year is a sister of Mr King's fine gull King Fayne Segis 2nd. At the same time and place there will also be offered on aceount of Mr A. Harold Street a number of pedigree Holstein bulls and heifers, mostly by Cliff side Laddie, a noted dairy bull and a winner of numerous championships iu Ilia day.
