PREMIER’S BILL INTRODUCED.

The National Registration Bill was introduced by Governor’s Message in the House yes.tyrday. In the case of every male between the ages of nineteen and forty-five years, it may he demanded that he furnish particulars; (1). In, certain cases, as may he decided, for the purpose of ascertaining the fitness for active service of persons to whom tin* provisions relate, they may he inquired to submit themselves for medical inspection by a registered medical practitioner,, to he appointed for the purpose. , A record of such inspection .shalli be entered by the Government statistician in the National Register of Men. It is provided in the Bill that, as soonl ast practicable, a National "Register of men shall he competed, and that a proclamation may require particulars to lie furnished by every male resident of New Zealand, to whom it applied,* with respect to all or any of the following matters :

(a) Name in full, usual address

(b) Agee date, place of birth and the place of birth ol his parents.

(c) Nationality and country of allegiance.

(d) If a British subject, whether a British subject by birth or by naturalization; if by naturalization, the date on which and the place in which letters of naturalization were issued. (» Whether single, married, rr widower.

f) The number of dependents 'if any), the name. age. address and occupation (if any) of each dependent; the extent of the dependency; the names of any other persons contributing, either in cash or kind, towards maintenance of any dependents, and the estimated annual value of such contribution ; any other sources of income of the dependent and the annual amount or value of the benefit derived therefrom.

(g) His present occupation, with a statement whether he is (I) an employer of labor, or (2) working on his own account but not employing labor,

or. <d) in receipt of salary or wages, or ( I) unemployed for more than one week (with period of unemployment) and former occupations (if any), with approximate periods. t • (h) If employed, the name of his
