The newspaper iV.Aional _ Tidenede states: “It is evident that the German commander gave way to impulse in committing an aggravating act of misconduct exceeding instructions. We may expect that Germany will completely disavow the officer responsible lor this sinister scene and will give commanders new instructions, guaranteeing us against further encroachment.”

The Politiken declares that the circumstances are such that it would he only natural for the Government immediately to take steps to protest to Berlin.

Other papers counsel coolness and state: “We are not the only nation whose neutrality has been violated.”
