A Zepeplin appeared above Vrieland, and Dutch troops opened gunfire. The Zepeplin disapepared alter cruising the district for over an hour.

FATE OF A ZEPPELIN.

London, August 19

The Daily News publishes an ae-. count of the fate of the damaged Zeppelin which raided England on Monday. supplied by an Ostend resident who, despite the strictest endeavors to prevent a leakage of details, managed to cross the frontier.

The Zeppelin fell with a heavy crash in the sea off Ostend. A tug went to its assistance with all speed, and toned the. disabled nightbird with her crew, some of whom were injured, into the harbor.

Allied aeroplanes came along, searching for their prey, and dropped projectiles, despite the fire of antiaircraft grins. Shortly after there was a loud explosion and a tremendous' cloud of smoke, and the Zeppelin way now a mass ot twisted aluminium. Manv soldiers were injured.
