FORTY-EIGHT UNACCOUNTED FOR.

A London message state's that according to the White Star Company 375 were saved from the Arabic, leaving 48 unaccounted for. (Received 11.35 aim.) London, August 19.
Fifteen or sixteen boats were launched and the Company are hopeful there was no loss of life. STEAMER SUNK IN 11 MINUTES. , ■' . f PASSENGERS LANDING AT QUEENSTOWN. (Received 12.45 p.m.) London, August 19. The Arabic sank in eleven minutes. The passengers will probably bo brought to Queenstown. A WILSON LINER SUNK, THE CREW RESCUED. (Received 9.15 a.m.) London, August 19. The Wilson liner .-Grodno was sunk. The crew were rescued. Thomas Wilson, Soils and Co., Ltd., had a fleet 0f.96 vessels, gross tonnage 211,099, average size 2300 tons.

BUILDING OF SUBMARINES.

Amsterdpm reports that the Germans havA been engaged since March at Antwerp in the construction of nine submarines. Only two are now on active service. One was destroyed on April 28 by three English aeroplanes, and the others are still unfinished. Strict precautions are taken to prevent the Allied aeroplanes dropping bombs.' An iron band roof lias been erected, covered with sacks of sand and surrounded by high walls.
